About Len Fasano
Len Fasano has served as leader of the Senate Republican Caucus since 2014. He has led the caucus in championing policies to benefit taxpayers, promote fiscal stability, and protect core services for the most vulnerable.
Under his leadership, Republicans have successfully grown in size and influence in the state Senate. In 2017 and 2018, Republicans gained enough seats to take hold of half the power in the Senate with an even 18:18 split of Republicans and Democrats. With these even numbers, Republicans implemented historic reforms including a spending cap, bonding caps and volatility cap; tax breaks for seniors and retirees; and an education funding formula based on need not politics, to ensure all children in all towns are supported equally.
Len has also led the Senate Republicans’ efforts to bring economic development and more opportunities to Connecticut cities.
Len has been a member of the state senate since 2003. He represents the 34th Senate District communities of Durham, East Haven, North Haven and Wallingford. He is the President and Founder of Fasano, Ippolito, Lee, & Florentine, a law firm with offices in New Haven and Branford. He is also an East Haven business owner. Fasano earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Yale University in 1981, a Juris Doctorate from Quinnipiac Law School in 1984, and an L.L.M. Degree in Taxation from Boston University Law School in 1985. He played football at Yale under legendary coach, Carm Cozza.
Senator Fasano has spent all of his life in New Haven and surrounding communities. He has three adult children and two grandchildren. He currently resides in North Haven with his wife, Jill.
